'(almost!) daily photo journal project'...
This project was begun April 3, 2014 and is designed to be an incentive to better my photography skills. Most photos are taken on our property, and those that are taken elsewhere are noted as such. All represent 'something' from that particular day in my life. Loving the outdoors and wanting to be a 'Nature Detective' this project is also proving an almost daily education in nature.
Easter Sunday morning, my husband and I hiked to the top of Sassafras Mountain, with our sassafras hiking sticks he'd made and enjoyed a grand view. If you look closely, you will see my lovely 'jewelry' at the top that spells my name. :) At 3,553', this is the highest elevation in our state of South Carolina, USA. I wore my chocolate brown
NEWLOOK 6216 pants and
refashioned shirt and was the
most comfortable hiking ever. We put in at a trailhead near the summit, so did not hike the entire 'climb' this trip. There's more about the hike at

I like the scenery around your part of the world - reminds me of places I have enjoyed living in. There is nothing like a me mades for comfort and suitability for lifestyle. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for MMM14. And good luck with the knitting (and unknitting :-))- I think you will pick it up easily enough - your other craft indicates you have quite an aptitude for making things :)

I've knitted hundreds of prayer shawls, scarfs, baby blankets but never a cardi knowing there'd be lots of 'unknitting' and not sure I was knowledgeable enough to put the loops back on the needles correctly!! But it's time I move forward and am looking at cardi patterns now. My MMM14 will be lots of repeats, but I'm looking forward to being in the 'spirit' of things. Glad you decided to join in! You'll do fine. You have so many lovely me-made items already in your closet.
