A birthday present from his 2 year old grandson, our neighbor could not bring himself to hurt his little grandson's feelings, so he accepted the chickens. We are happy to add these two cuties to our flock, so he's going to tell the little boy the chickens are staying at Tom and Lisa's because we have such a nice home for chickens. We told him anytime he'd like to bring his grandson over to pet the chickens, they were always welcome. Our other neighbor used to do that with their little girl until they built their own coop and now raise their own flock.
Our established flock of hens, who out-size these newcomers by at least double, are scared to death of them! It is so funny! I've made the photos large so you can see the 'teenage' chickens off to the far right with our established flock of hens to the far left literally turning their tails up at them, for the most part!
They are beginning to be a little curious here |
Right after this oh-so-bold move, the big chickens scattered and ran to the other side of the yard! |
Such a cute story, and I like your relaxed style. I really need to sew a relaxed style skirt, yours looks so comfy to wear.
ReplyDeleteThank you Erin!... and it is!

ReplyDeleteWhat pretty chickens...
Thank you Judy! We are loving our new chickens. Melissa spent the evening holding and loving all over them trying to 'tame' them. Hopefully they'll be easier to hold and handle soon.
DeleteI guess that's why they call them chicken. :-) Very pretty skirt and top.
ReplyDeleteKathy, you gave me such a laugh this morning!!!! I guess you are right! hehehehehe! Thank you!
DeleteYou look like Spring! Very nice outfit. I'm trying to talk The Man into getting a few chickens but so far he's resisting. Thanks again for the tip about comments on my blog. I think I fixed it, fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the comments blip fixed. Once you build a coop, chickens are not much work. Kind of like a cat..... put out food and water and they take care of themselves! Thank you Nancy!
