Tears are flowing as I write this post. Behind in reading my favorite blogs, I just found out today Nancy Zieman has written a Time to Say Goodbye - a Personal Note from Nancy. She explains that she has recently found out the cancer that was detected in 2015 has spread and is untreatable. Please take the time and stop by the link above and leave a note to her. We are losing a classy, intelligent, talented member of our sewing community. I've learned so much from her and been inspired from the way she has chosen to live her life and run her business. Her autobiography 'Seams Unlikely' is worth purchasing and reading. I treasure my copy.
I love you Nancy and am praying for you and your family.
Lisa - I love Nancy Zieman too. Her sewing greatly influenced my own. However, your link isn't working...
ReplyDeleteI found the link online here: http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/quilting-2/a-personal-note-from-nancy/
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting the correct link Carolyn!
DeleteOh, no. Such terribly, terribly sad news. I have watched her program on our PBS channel for more years than I can remember and have admired her and the way she has lived her life. A year or so ago I read her book "Seams Unlikely" and found even more admiration for her. I am so, so sorry to hear this news.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching her show back in the 80's and even just a few weeks ago I used one of her videos on fitting to tweak a pattern. It worked perfectly. I will so miss her.
DeleteHow sad!
ReplyDeleteShe is one year younger than me.
She will be so missed.
DeleteI shed tears for Nancy too when I read her post. She has been such an incredible inspiration and guiding light for us home sewists. I have several of her books, patterns and have watched umpteen shows of hers online. I wish her all the best in this next lap in her journey - I have no doubt she'll face the challenges ahead with the same grace she has always done in the past.
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing this to my attention, Lisa. I was thinking about Nancy just last week and obviously hoped for better news. I'm glad I had an opportunity to let her know how grateful I am for all she shared with us over so many years.
ReplyDeleteI have a few of Nancy's books, and read the story of her early years and struggles with Bell's Palsy. She was one determined and courageous lady, and I think she will tackle her next stage of life in the same way. I hope she has loving care to help her.
